I was told that this would make an ideal hedge for my situation but it wasn't to be. 3 of the 5 plants died. The 2 remaining are stunted and have only 6 months left to redeem themselves!

I love this tree! In my garden it is in part shade and has become a beautiful tree in 20 years. The flowers are very fragrant and the robins and cedar wax wings LOVE the berries! I have 3 plus a seedling growing now and just bought 3 more with strong leaders that will make good trees in a few years. This plant is much better behaved than the common English Lau...

Portugal Laurel
Portugal laurel has much better foliage than English Laurel - the leaves are a beautiful glossy green, darker and not so big as English Laurel: altogether more refined. Left to itself it will grow into a tree: kept cut back as a hedge it's very handsome.
